We found some examples of good practice such as hosting Every Child Has Options community support programme.
There were systems to identify and follow up children living in disadvantaged circumstances or who were at risk.
Ash Grove Medical Centre hosted and supported the ECHO (Every Child Has Options) programme. This community multidisciplinary programme aimed to support parents, families and young people who experienced or who lived in challenging circumstances. The service operated twice weekly from the main surgery on Tuesdays and Thursdays. People who accessed the service received support from a number of services, these included: GP and Health Visitor advice. Safeguarding support. o Holistic therapies, counselling, stress and situational management skills, coping mechanisms, and relaxation techniques. Substance misuse advice and professional referral and signposting. o Parent and Child support which included school-based concerns. Behavioural specialist support. Employability and further education advice.
Outcomes since the programme was launched in March 2019 included: 302 attendances for safeguarding/anger management/signs of safety support. 264 attendances for holistic therapy/counselling 141 attendances for parent/child support 82 attendances for behavioural support 38 attendances for drug/alcohol support 9 attendances for GP/Health Visitor support.
