About Us

A Community Programme

Learn a little about who we are

Comprised in 2010, ECHO CP was born to support those individuals in need of support on any and all fronts. Our communities, your communities are helped to thrive by the people within them, this is where we come in to assist where needed and provide the strength needed.

We are professional people with backgrounds in Education Police and the National Health Service, working with fellow professionals to achieve our outcomes.
We combine our different skills in order to create a multi-disciplinary, holistic package of support solely for those in need within the community. Our aim is to provide a service which will make life changing impacts in the lives of families within the community. We are a dedicated team who aim to work with individuals and families through severe or enduring predominantly m ducal, behavioural and social issues.
We will provide the person/family with the optimum support utilising a client centred approach.

Where We Started

ECHO (Every Child Has Options) evolved as a result of a programme that was developed for education by Annette Jones.

The initial programme CHOICE (Children Have Options Imagination Challenge & Experience) is a 30- week programme that was developed for young people aged between 9 and 11. The aim of the project is to promote career opportunities and aspirations at an early age and help increase school attendance by making positive choices and becoming a positive member of society.

The programme gained endorsement from Public Health England, The Centre for Excellence, West Yorkshire Police, West Yorkshire Fire Service, Imaginative Minds and School Leadership magazines. In addition, it received a nomination for a Commonwealth Award and West Yorkshire Police created a film highlighting the partnership work.

Annette Jones

Echo Community Programme Manager

My background is in education where I have worked for 22 years both in Primary and Secondary schools. For 16 of those years I have specifically worked in Safeguarding and Welfare and latterly in a Central Managerial position supporting an Academy Trust and liaising/supporting schools in other localities. Additionally, I have been successful in gaining a secondment placement within Children's Services and gained positive feedback from Ofsted and the DCGL (Department for Communities & Local Government.

A large part of this work involved creating and coordinating packages of support for those I worked with. One of my proudest achievements is in the creation of CHOICE ( Children Have Options Imagination Challenge and Experience).

I have held many voluntary positions which have equipped me with a vast range of experience in how other professions work and how agencies merge together. All my positions have been with Children's Services and West Yorkshire Police. These include Appropriate Adult, assisting children and vulnerable adults when detained in Police custody. The Youth Offending Team Panel, where decisions are made once a child becomes involved in the Criminal Justice System and currently for the Police and Crime Commissioners Office as an ICV (Independent Custody Visitor).

This role ensures that detained people understand their rights and that their general welfare needs are met. I have plans to further develop within this role and actively support the Community we live in.

Echo Community Programme Manager

For many years I have had the privilege of assisting many people to overcome both physical and emotional problems that were preventing them from moving forward and living life to the full.

I have used my experience as a Qualified Counsellor, Complementary Therapist, Relax Kids Coach and Clinical Hypnotherapist to provide an holistic individual approach within a safe environment.

My journey to this point began when I retired due to a back injury from a job I loved. After 20 years working as an Auxiliary Nurse in both Care of the Elderly and the Psychiatric Services I retrained as a Client Centred Counsellor before moving on to qualify in many different holistic therapies. There are many benefits to the Therapies I offer both as individual treatments or combined to suit the needs of each person, these include:

  • Promoting Relaxation
  • Easing Stress and Tension
  • Improving the quality of sleep
  • Soothing Pain/Emotion
  • Improving Joint Mobility as well as
  • Reducing the effects of Trauma

Since 2003 I have been The UK Ambassador for Fior Di Loto a charity in Pushkar, Rajasthan India Helping Girls from very poor areas access education. If you would like to try a taster treatment of the Holistic Therapies I offer, we have a Charity Evening that runs from 4-9pm on the first Wednesday of every month, at The Methodist Church Ropewalk Knottingley.
